Has anyone bought a Wii (or Wii games/accessories) from abroad?

Do you know if there is there a facility to change the language to English?

Wii Fitness seems to be easily available in Germany but my German isn't up to much, so would rather wait until they become available in the UK if it isn't possible to change the language.

Would be most grateful if anyone knows.

They're available in the UK on Friday.

I know someone that went on holiday to spain and bought one there, she hasn't complained of any problems with it.
Not sure about how wii fit would work though

NQC - I can't find anywhere that has any stock (other than some websites that look like they were designed to be featured in the scam section of Watchdog). Do you know anywhere reputableish that has them?

That's handy to know whoops, thanks.

Hi Lummox
DH bought our Wii here in France and has set it up so all the menus are in English.
Can ask him about the games tonight if you'd like.
What's Wii fitness involve?

NotQuiteCockney · 21/04/2008 13:00

I am pretty sure you can preorder them at Game etc, in person. (I haven't tried, we'll get them in a little while.)

Actually, some of our games appear to be bilingual, it's likely that if your console is set up in English, the game will work in English? I wouldn't count on it though, and haven't got time to do a search online right now to check.

Hey OSOTC. Would be great if you could ask your dh. Wii Fit is here

Will reply to your mail shortly - both boys down with gastro here, so feeling a little sorry for ourselves.

Thanks NQC - situation is complicated by my living in France most of the time. I do go to the UK a lot, but couldn't really justify a trip to order a computer game. Probably.

OK, will ask DH tonight then.
Gotta get back to work.

if you look on the back of the game then it will have flags denoting the various languages that it is in. As long as it has a british flag you will be able to get the language to Engligh. This also applies to DS games and X-box games too. Not sure about PSP. its due out on friday and you can pre-order from Play.com Amazon will also stock it on Friday. Will be getting mine then

Thanks for that chopchopmissy - I guess I'll be sat pressing refresh every few seconds on Amazon then!
