Probably fine - my DD (10) has had it for a couple of years now. Very good mag if interested in nature and the world around.

I'd like my kids to like it, but they see it as too educational They are 10 and 14. I think it looks really good.

We like looking at their website but I'm not sure how much dd would appreciate the magazine yet...I haven't been able to look at an issue yet - it's not stocked at our village newsagents.

DD says "it is really good and has lots about animals. There is always something about polar bears"

orangina · 21/04/2008 17:06

I gave it to my niece for a few years... probably around 7 and 8 or 8 and 9 years old. She (apparently) loved it.....

Polar bears sounds good - dd loves them

I think I'll tell him to go ahead, sounds like a great gift

If you go for it, you can buy the US version, for 15 dollars for a year, rather than the UK one at £35 a year. I think the content is slightly different - UK one being anglicised a bit I think, but the US one is so much cheaper, and still excellent.

US magazine:
[ttp://kids.nationalgeographic.com/]

UK magazine:
[ttp://www.ngkids.co.uk/]

I've given it to my 8 year old niece and a 7 year old as well, and both love it. You get a free inflatable globe with the US one as well.
