Do Homebase or B&Q sell sand pit sand? What sort of sand do you need for a sandpit?

Yes Homebase do it -in fact most DIY places do, also big toyshops.

Its basically sand thats been washed and dried. You can also buy washed builders sand thats as good but cheaper (just make sure its not the orangey one as that stains)

Tesco do it as well.
SOmetimes it is cheaper to call a builders merchant and ask for Silver Sand, it tends to come in larger amounts so can be more cost effective if you are filling quite a big sand pit.

you can even get it from argos and mothercare

tesco £1.97 a bag is quite reasonable - bulk buying probably cheaper, depends on delivery charges I guess.
