Is this the right place to ask for suggestions?
DD18 needs a smart outfit for things like matriculation dinner. She has nothing between jeans/T-shirt and her prom dress, apart from concert wear (orchestral player - black/white).
Size 6/8 (top/bottom)
As un-fashion-conscious as they come. Hates clothes shopping even more than me, and doesn't seem to have any friends who can help.
Has spent most of her teens in navy, but has now been persuaded that green suits her.
Not interested in dresses - would much prefer trousers.
Prefers not to draw attention to herself.
Not keen on frills and flounces, or sleeveless options.
Heading northwards so probably needs to be able to add a warm layer.
No heels. She has some navy sandals, but otherwise we probably need to find shoes as well.
We only got the prom dress sorted by me pulling up a list of navy options online as a shortlist, and I had a better idea where to start because "prom dress" is something you can search for.
