Beds - as compact as a divan but with space under like a bedstead?

The new bedroom is such that we can't have a kingsize bed unless it is the exact size of the mattress and no bigger, so bedsteads are out.

But we need to keep fencing kit (in long bags, like golf bags) underneath, so it can't be a down-to-the-floor divan.

Any bright ideas?

a double sized bedstead?

could you take out the drawers from a divan to use the space underneath?

MrsBadger · 16/04/2008 14:22

tell you what, get dd to sleep in the cot all night and then we'll buy a double...

we're going to JL at the weekend to kick their divans about and see if any have drawer-removal potential

was slightly put out to discover Ikea don;t do kingsize (ie 150cm) beds, only 140cm doubles and weirdy 160cm 'continental kingsize'. Pah.

these are what you need

I'd love one, we always need more storage!

do you know, you might be right, Lucy

love to see what happens when DH comes home from training and I;m asleep though

Fencing kit eh? Yeah yeah. I'm sure that's what Karen Mathews called it when she was looking for a spacious divan bed.

Spidermama · 16/04/2008 14:39

Sorry. Very tastless.

MrsBadger · 16/04/2008 14:47

oh don't start, it's hard enough getting the bloody things through customs
'Excuse me madam, what's in that large wheeled thing that looks suspiciously like a body bag?'
'Oh it's not a body bag, it's sporting equipment'
'Really? Golf clubs is it?'
'Um, no. Swords'
'Would you like to come with me...?'
