Any plumbers out there? We are desperate! Its an oil boiler question.

We have an oil fired boiler which keeps stopping and then not working! We have had the plumber out 5 or 6 times!
First he thought it was a blocked nozzle - so he cleaned it (saying it was in good nick)

Then - he thought it was the control panel and he changed the inside bit of it.

Then - he thought it was the oil pump - so he fitted a new one.

But once again it has STOPPED! We are really desperate! Any advice please!!!!!!

Silly question but have you run out of oil by any chance?

Good thought - it has happened before! - but no, we have a full tank and the aga is working - which means the oil must be getting through to it.

Is it locking out when it stops? We had a similar problem where it would work for a bit and then stop until we re-started it. Turned out it was the internal thermostat that needed replacing.

Dh said it could be an air lock especially if you ran out before it started acting up. That way air got into the pipe instead of fuel. If not get a second opinion.

Thank you. Could it be small leak in the pipe from the oil tank? Is that worth investigating?

Thank you, Daisy, but it is not restarting at the moment.
