Recommendations for online pram buying

Hi, any suggestions as to the best online stores for prams? Babyworld and Kiddicare seem to have the best prices - any experiences of their customer services, and are there any cheaper places?

Thanks!

two left feet are really good, I bought my pram from them and it broke well out of the warranty and they helped me sort it out.

mylovelymonster · 11/04/2008 16:05

Glasgow pram centre very good. You need to phone to double check stock availability though - sometimes website not 100% up to date - but good prices and efficient, and very pleasant people on the phones to answer queries.

I did buy some baby clothes from Kiddicare once - they were not the sizes they should have been - really tiny but I was unable to get a response for returning them, so they were binned. Otherwise have had a cot from them and a few other things ok. I think they're fine as long as you go for the recognisable brand names.
My brother and SIL have had issues with 2leftfeet.

LIZS · 11/04/2008 16:54

lots of people have had issues with 2LF, to the extent they have featured on Watchdog.

I have bought tons of stuff from Kiddicare (do not confuse with the lesser known Kiddycare) and always had a great service from them. Not bought a pram but have bought other largeish items with no probs.

I bought my double buggy brand new from ebay where I got the best the price (cheaper than Kiddicare).

I got my first pram for DS1 from TwoLeftFeet but purchased it when at the Baby Show in London and had no problems. They delivered it when they said they would, and when I called to get a spare inner tube thing for the tyre they sent it immediately.

Whinegums - my fellow geordie scottish type!!!!

Best place to get a good deal is teglasgow pram centre - the website is good but they usually have better deals in store. Could you make it across?

sazm · 11/04/2008 18:55

we got a travel system for £90 (was selling everywhere else for £180) and a double buggy for £99 ( £129.99 everywhere else) from the glasgow pram centre, delivery was free and came next day, great service and would def use again.
ebay is also a good place for a bargain, although if for some reason you didnt like it/it wasnt what you expected, you may have probs returning it.

Seona1973 · 11/04/2008 20:05

I have bought a couple of buggies from kiddicare and they had really quick delivery e.g. ordered Tuesday evening and it was delivered Thursday afternoon. They also text you to let you know the delivery is due and you can rearrange delivery by text if you need to.

IndigoBlue · 11/04/2008 21:07

I've bought several things from Kiddicare website including 2 pushchairs & they do arrive quickly. I pre-ordered a double pushchair a couple of months ago and there was a problem with it not being in stock when it should have been - I sent them an email (they have an expensive telephone help line) and customer services phoned me and sorted it all out fine so I would say they are good.

TheBlonde · 11/04/2008 21:08

I have used kiddicare before all fine
also oxfordpramcentre

Morning all, and thanks for replying. Geordieminx - hellllooooo! - and mylovelymonster - yes, was going to go to Glasgow Pram Centre this morning, but DP is still sound asleep in bed!!! I won a couple of tickets to the Scottish Baby Show at the end of the month, so might hang on and see if there are any bargains to be had there - I will be up for a bit of haggling too!

DonDons · 12/04/2008 12:00

got mine from Olivers Babycare - fast delivery and best price I could find by a significant amount.

mylovelymonster · 12/04/2008 20:43

whinegums - deffo discounts available at the Baby Shows with everyone. Make a big list and you'll probably get a load of stuff there - well done for winning tickets!!!

anitaj1982 · 13/04/2008 02:25

kiddicare was great, swift delivery, good customer service, very reasonable prices i would definitely recommend

whinegums · 13/04/2008 11:42

Hi again, GM, not sure which day I can go yet - have roped in a chum (so they can carry stuff!) and need to see which day she's free, but thanks, and will give you a shout if I go on Sunday.

We ended up going to Troon yesterday - I remembered there was a pram shop there, and got DP out on the pretence of taking him for (the best ever by the way) fish and chips at Maccallum's at the harbour first. They had really good prices - even cheaper than the online prices I'd found. So if I can't haggle a better deal at the baby show, I'm going to order from there - really lovely staff too.

We used the on line store babies123 to order a 3 in 1 travel system. The money was taken immediately but the pushchair never arrived. We had to involve the credit card company to get the money back -so far not a full refund.
The company are not contactable by telephone, send pre written fob off e-mails and unbelievably are still accepting orders for the travel system. Strangely Kiddicare and others could have delivered the pushchair in 2 days. Never again...
