Has anyone got the Hotpoint WD865 washing machine? Where do I put detergent

I have had it a week now but still not sure if I am putting detergent / conditioner in the right place There are two compartments side by side as in my old machine, but the left side is split into 2.

All the booklet tells you is that it is the dispensing drawer. Any ideas anyone?
BTW my washing is coming out clean, would just like to be re assured it is being washed in detergent & not conditioner

I have hotpoint washer/dryer not the same model.

The drawer has 2 compartments the saop powder goes in the large side and the conditioner goes in the small gray insert bit if that makes sense.

If the detergent isn't there anymore when the cycle is finished, presumably it's been washing your clothes?

lizziemum, by large side you mean the right side yes? I have been putting detergent in the small grey insert bit

midnightexpress, have been washing my clothes in conditioner & conditioning them with soap powder, we will all be itching !
