no and lego is much better, the small megablocks are really hard to put together

FourPlusOne · 08/04/2008 20:33

I don't think it is, but have only got the larger version so I could be wrong - have got rid of my DSs megablocks (received as presents) and stuck with theduplo!

SorenLorensen · 08/04/2008 20:33

Kind of. I mean, it fits...it just doesn't lock together quite as tightly. And the plastic is less solid somehow - I always feel that megabloks weaken your fundamental structure. It's the same...but it's not the same.

That was clear as mud, wasn't it ?

tassisssss · 08/04/2008 20:34

but they do work on the proper lego bases so what's the problem exactly, please?

yes it is compatible, we have a couple of the mega block sets and they clip together with normal lego fine. They aren't as well made though. We also have some other cheap copy stuff (build-a-set I think) that is crap.

FloridaKbear · 08/04/2008 20:39

they never clicks together properly though when you mix them, agree, you don't want your fundamental structure weakened.!!!!!

hairycaterpillar · 08/04/2008 22:39

Yes, DS1 has wee mega block pirate ship and I noticed the other day he'd got some bits of real lego stuck on it too. Agree with last couple of posters that lego seems better quality.

ds already had a starter thing of the megabloks type...the real question is whether to start again with lego or buy the ultimate vehicles lego starter box and bung it all in together??

not sure I'm any further forward!

duplo does fit on wee lego bases and big megaboks fit on duplo bases

hopefully ds will have lots of fun with whatever we decide to go for! at almost 5 he still enjoys playing with his duplo!
