Bump - it looks fab and has had great reviews in the press. I'd like to know what "real" people think of it, though. And some information about how big the boot is would be good.

purpleduck · 06/04/2008 23:12

Is it that new thingy that looks so great?

!

Shhhh · 07/04/2008 22:16

afaik from reviews its quite small so depends on how much space you need/want.

I love the look of it though and if I didn't have 2 lo's I would love one..Love the fact that you can have the option of "500" additions to make it personalised....

BTW, can your dh not get one on his car scheme..? I used to work on car schemes and imo they were worthwhile as some of the support/discount offered was amazing...just an idea x

There has been one parked outside our house all day. Looks lovely. Drool.

Riddo · 07/04/2008 22:36

Have test driven one briefly (best friend is buying it) and I loved it. It just looks so fab and is great to drive.

I like that you can choose different stickers and colour combos and really personalize it.

mcnoodle · 07/04/2008 22:40

I had old style one when I lived in Naples aged 16. It was blue, with purple flowers on it. It was called Toby.

I loved Toby. He had the coolest little flicky nobs, and dials, and a huge steering wheel.

don't know if ongoing cost is important but they have car tax exempt 2 cars completely, the VW Polo 1.4td (after 2001) and one other, can't remember.

the Mini Diesel is in the next category up so only £35 car tax for the year. I would check the emissions to see if it's likely to go into a lowtax band or if your a 'greeny'

MuffinMclay · 08/04/2008 09:37

Long waiting list for them at the moment, I believe.

Lauriefairycake · 08/04/2008 10:24

Maybe there's a waiting list in some places. Pennings in Watford have two parked outside with prices stickers on them - one was £9000 (the red one) last time I drove past - they are so pretty.

MuffinMclay · 08/04/2008 12:15

Sorry, was assuming new. Our local dealership said they couldn't get one before August (but we changed our mind about getting one anyway - nothing to do with the merits or otherwise of the car).

Shhhh · 08/04/2008 20:45

muffinmclay, tbh you will find that most cars your order from manufacturer will have a 12-16 week lead time..(wait..)

Thats good in comparison to Mercs and BMW's.....can be anything up to
and beyond 12 months .

MuffinMclay · 09/04/2008 09:37

Really? Guess we've been lucky. Just ordered one new car and are about to order another - 4 weeks wait for one, 2 for the other.

Shhhh · 10/04/2008 13:26

muffinmclay, depends on the car as well...Popular cars obviously have shorter wait BUT if you were to order a car from scratch and specked to your choice then it would be a factory order and can take upto 12-16 weeks...

If ordering a base model then obviosuly quicker as the car no doubt will already be in production..

Also depends on time of order as it has been known for some older factories to close for holidays.

Like you I have always ordered new and never had to long a wait (6 weeks) ALTHOUGH the car I have now was a 5 month wait................Because I wanted to wait for the new reg in march .!!

MuffinMclay · 10/04/2008 13:39

You learn something new every day.

I am new to this new car buying lark; we've always bought used ones in the past.

Shhhh · 11/04/2008 20:50

I remember when I used to order cars in my job before the dk's, I ordered one of our customers a high spec merc....took almost 10 months to order (which was fine as driver was tied into current car deal till then..) and when it came into the dealership, that night they were targeted by arsonists and a whole 10 (just in stock)cars were burnt out including one of my customers cars...the one who had waited 10 months .

Nightmare......

This fire actually affected 3 of our "customers"

MuffinMclay · 12/04/2008 19:17

LOL the new car that we were getting at the end of April has been delayed until July.

zippitippitoes · 12/04/2008 19:20

oh there were 6 or 7 of them in town today in a driving in a file all different coplours

Shhhh · 12/04/2008 21:38
