Question about nursery furniture

Hi girls,

I'm Maria, 22+5 weeks pregnant. I'm now at that stage in pregnancy where I want to get going with buying the 'big stuff' (dresser/changer, cot & pushchair) so that then I can focus on the little things that are more fun to buy & can be left to the last minute. As to the pram/pushchair, we've settled on the Pliko pramette from Mamas & Papas, and I'm very happy with our choice. So that's one thing out of the way. However, I'm really at a loss when it comes to choosing nursery furniture... We have a nice-sized room which will be the baby's room, and we want to buy (at this early point) a cot or cotbed (what's the difference? And which is best?) & also a changer, ideally one with drawers which can then just be a nice chest of drawers. We don't want to buy the cheapest things available, nor the most expensive, so any advice would be more than welcome. The colour we're looking for is a natural wood colour (e.g. oak or beech), not white.

I've been searching on the internet & there's so much choice! It's hard to make a decision. I would love something stylish or a bit quirky, but so far haven't been able to choose... so I'm hoping you girls will come to the rescue!

Thanks
Maria

hiya, a cotbed will last much longer than a cot,as it turns into a bed when lo is big enough and will do as a bed until lo is bout 6 or 7, so you get much more use out of it.also handy as when your lo is ready to go into a bed,it wont take up any more space in the bedroom.
ebay has a good choice,
you can get chest od drawers with an edge round the sides and back for putting a change mat on,that way,all you have to do is lift off the mat once you no longer nees it,and its a chest of drawers.

We bought this set. The drawers and wardrobe are full size so I reckoned we would get more use out of them as DS gets older.
