Follow the light, perfect shapes maker? What is ds on about?

ds says he's seen an advert for this and wants one. What is it? Anyone know? And is it good? Thanks.
ScummyMummy · 07/12/2002 17:16
No idea at all. Just asked my advert loving son and he said "It makes shapes out of ice. Can I have one?" Could be true, could be totally false... Can't find it on google.
WideWebWitch · 07/12/2002 19:34
thanks scummy, he said something about being able to copy a tiger too so it could be a drawing toy. Can't find anything on Google either.
yoko · 07/12/2002 20:01
i think this must be the disney/winnie the pooh over head projector type thing the adverts of which send my ds into raptures of delight.you put the images into the projetor and can either trace round onto paper or project onto the wall.advert shows tigger being drawn.having said all that have no idea who manufactures it,maybe fisher price?
RosieT · 07/12/2002 22:02
Watch children's TV for an hour or so tomorrow (Sunday) morning, and it's bound to pop up (channel 5). Not sure exactly what it is, but it looks like an etch-a-sketch type thing that has a moving light which you follow with a pencil to sort-of trace the shape. (Must say, it sounds ghastly to me).
SoupDragon · 07/12/2002 22:04
Yes, RoseT, you're right. It's some sort of "tracing machine" where you choose a shape and it shines a light for you to follow with your pencil.
Hilary · 07/12/2002 22:08
Yes, it sounds like the advert for the Winnie the Pooh projector. Ds1 goes into raptures about it too but I won't be buying one!
emsiewill · 07/12/2002 22:12
I've got the tune for that Winnie the Pooh thing in my head now. But it does sound like it could be that.
WideWebWitch · 07/12/2002 22:14
Thank you so much everyone, I knew someone here would know what he was talking about! It doesn't sound great to me though so he probably won't be getting one.

I bought one of these for ds last christmas. the little bugger did hardly any drawing with it. He lost the slides, then dismantled it in time for new year, it hasn't been used since.
