Age 10 - never worn a watch before - what's the best one to get?

DS1 has a few tactile issues: he doesn't care what his clothes/shoes look like, as long as they're comfy, and has so far been resistant to wearing a watch.

In September he will have to catch/miss buses to and from secondary school, and I think a watch is pretty much essential.

What strap do you think would be most 'comfy'? Leather, metal, or sports strap?

He loathes shopping and will just say "yeah, that's fine" to the first thing presented, but will then just not wear it. (He does that with clothes.)

try leather and a velcro sports strap - metal is the least liekyl to be comfy imo

a digital watch in a pocket (they are slimmer than analogue ones ime) migth also be a solution
or a keyring with a watch on thus?

The Flik Flak ones by Swatch are nice. They have material straps rather than plastic like many aimed at children - far more comfortable. And they seem to be good quality too, but not particularly expensive.

Flik Flak

Thanks - I like the look of that keyring watch actually. That would be a great idea, I think.

He already has a Flik Flak one somewhere, but doesn't find it 'comfy'
