Tap shoe sizing

dd is about a 10 regular shoe size, how do tap shoes size up relative to that please ?

I'm not sure that there would be a standard answer to this, I imagine it would depend on the individual retailer (like how you can be a size 12 in one shop and a size 16 in another). But having said that, we ordered a pair of tap shoes for DD and ordered her usual size and they were too smaller, so we ordered one bigger instead. We got them from a company called Move Dancewear who did free size exchanges, so you don't need to worry if it's the wrong size.

Can anyone suggest a low cost place to buy basic tap shoes. Lost out on some on ebay, nothing at school 2nd hand ... what is the going rate new in store ? Do John Lewis sell them ? The prices on internet seem to vary wildly but need some for next weekend.

As far as I can remember, tap shoe sizes are mush the same as normal shoes. It's ballet shoes where you have to go up a size.
