Hairbrush for thick toddler hair

DD has quite thick, fine hair and I'm struggling to find a suitable hairbrush. The baby ones just skim over the surface and the next one up seems to be the adult ones that are too hard. I've seen what looks like a good one in Letterbox, but as it's enamelled and personalised it's £40! Any ideas?

I just use one of mine for dd's hair or what about one of the mini sized ones you get for your handbag?

brushes are rubbish for thick hair IME

get a wide-toothed detangling comb - the Kent ones are excellent if pricey
