Are there any which don't have a waterproof backing?

oh X post about acidophilus

really recommend lactacyd tho

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 30/03/2008 23:21

sorry only skimmed this but feel quite strongly re pantyliner

i think they are devils work and only useful during period

scented is unhealthy

my fanny smells good - well it does not smell !

i think women should bathe - not shower and wear cotton pants

Cappuccino · 30/03/2008 23:21

I think we need a pantyliners topic

PrettyCandles · 30/03/2008 23:21

I'll try the Goldneseal and prebiotics, thanks.

pmsl capp

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/03/2008 23:22

Can recommend Diflucan (or Boots alternative, which is much cheaper) for eradicating thrush immediately, but it is a short term solution.

Long term you need to sort your diet out.

Honestly.

Not sure what Capp means about nearly killing herself, though!

controlfreakyagain · 30/03/2008 23:22

paula, great minds....

PrettyCandles · 30/03/2008 23:23

Lactacyd is good, but I can't find the one you use when there are problems. I can still find the everyday one, though.

OP posts:
Cappuccino · 30/03/2008 23:23

Because I did the anticandida diet last year, and got ill during it

and haven't been well since

Cappuccino · 30/03/2008 23:24

no PC I have never found the super lactacyd

controlfreakyagain · 30/03/2008 23:24

pantyliner topic, good idea

some people on here must be really very, err, moist.

Cappuccino · 30/03/2008 23:24

but I don't even use a mooncup now because that felt to be contributing

BecauseImWorthIt · 30/03/2008 23:24

Sorry to hear that Capp. But how would the diet make you ill?

controlfreakyagain · 30/03/2008 23:25

what sort of ill, capp?

Cappuccino · 30/03/2008 23:25

it made me ignore something that actually was wrong with me because it was a symptom of die-off

I kept thinking shit I am ill, and the book kept telling me that was fine

I developed ME in the end

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 30/03/2008 23:26

i dont mind a bit of moisture - am i odd?

i like the smell of my bits - am i odd?

I do bathe twice a day

princessmel · 30/03/2008 23:27

To the people who are anti-pantyliner (note the anti-panty rhyme, you get that made up on tops, badges etc...)
do you really think its better to get wet pants and thats that?

PrettyCandles · 30/03/2008 23:28

I know the anti-candida diet very well, my sister lived on it for several years as a child. My diet is nowhere near that, but it is a very sound diet nonetheless (just there's reather too much of it!). Though I am just coming out of a too-many-biscuits-and-chocolate phase. While I don't deny the connection, I'm sure in my case that the thrush isn't being triggered by diet, but by excessive, continuous dampness in the area. It's also very clearly external thrush, rather than internal. Of course diet may be making me more vulnerable, so I'll try to be more cautious of what I'm eating during the times when I use liners.

WideWebWitch · 30/03/2008 23:29

But I don't have wet pants!
Erm, you know, they're not bone dry (gawd, the things you post here!) but they're not wringing and minging by the end of the day or anything. My pelvic floor is fine mind you, is that the difference? Are we talking about wee or just normal moisture here?

Heathcliffscathy · 30/03/2008 23:30

yes.

if for some reason it was really bad, i'd take a spare pair of knicks.

Cappuccino · 30/03/2008 23:30

PC my thrush was external

got some timodene from the docs

best thing in the world

go get some

PrettyCandles · 30/03/2008 23:31

No, not pevlic floor issues - thankfully!

OP posts:
princessmel · 30/03/2008 23:31

No I don't mean sopping I've-just-wet-myself-wet but some days its more necessary than others. Start and end of period etc when its too light for tampax etc.

princessmel · 30/03/2008 23:32

Why is that better though?

As a femenist thing or a natural, no plastic near fanjo thing?

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 30/03/2008 23:32

not wee surely! normal daily secretions vary during the month but that is fine

its a self cleansing mechanism - the moisture is not nasty
