I'm not usually excited about such things, but let me tell you about this rather magnificent chair.

The Snuggler by John Lewis.

Doesn't look that special does it?

And to have called it the 'snuggler' is most unbecoming of JL.......

and yet......

my word what an extremely comfortable chair it is.
It does exactly what it says on the tin.

I sauntered past it and thought "gosh thats a big arsed chair" and sat down, and immediately made the noise that you make when you get into bed on a cold night and your electric blanket is on, then you have no choice but to push your shoes off and curl up into a ball.

If there had been crumpets nearby, I would have eaten a crumpet in it.

I'm going to start saving for my very own snuggler right now.

I see the snuggler LARGE cup of tea, desperate housewives on tv and large bowl of mini eggs. BLISS

Slubberdegullion · 28/03/2008 19:20

yes yes DANCES, that is exactly what it is perfect for. American TV series, blanket, fire lit, wine........

[boaking snuggle emoticon]

OOOOOOOoooh yes, blanket and fire excellent additions. May I also put forward, cosy pyjamas and jaffa cakes...

Slubberdegullion · 28/03/2008 19:25

oh dear Lord, can one die from comfort overload?

I think an addition of extremely well fitting, warm and yet tasteful slippers needs to be added to the scene.

Perfect.

The snuggler
cosy pyjamas
tasteful yet warm slippers (with some sort of sock underneath to avoid sweaty bare feet in slippers scenario...or is that just me
Chocolate
Biscuits
Tea or wine
American TV series of Desp. Housewives ilk (West Wing if you're feeling intellectual)
Blanket
Open Fire

Actually possibly this could be even better if you have butler (of the discreet disappearing sort like Jeeves) to occasionally top up wine/tea/choc and tend to the fire.

Now that is perfection.

SoupDragon · 28/03/2008 19:37

Does it not look identical to this though?

Slubberdegullion · 28/03/2008 19:38

I have a hankering for cheese and crackers and chutney.

Any chance that the DC are very soundly asleep upstairs....until maybe 7.30am tomorrow (pre meditated comfort)?

aha but Soupy the snuggler has a width of 128cm (that the Ikea number does not have). there in lies the rub. It is not just an armchair, it is an arm chair and a half. You absolutely have to curl your knees up in the snuggler. Absolutely.
