Nice 100% cotton duvet covers for 3 year old

I've looked high and low and found:

  • M&S, Next and John Lewis kids ranges are all polycotton which I don't like
  • nice trains one in Laura Ashley but it's out of stock for two to three weeks
  • White Company - not keen on the current ranges
  • Habitat - right bit of their website isn't working properly!

Ds's bedroom has blue gingham curtains, cream walls. I'd like something with trains, cars or similar ideally. Letters or numbers would be ok too.

Any ideas would be welcome.

If you can get to a store, Habitat's ones are nice (very stylish) but not cheap (then again, sounds like you won't mind). Cologne and Cotton do plain stripey ones and star ones. And you have rejected the white company which was my other thought!

TheHonEnid · 28/03/2008 12:07

urchin has lovely ones but they are £££

otherwise I have bought some good 100% cotton ones from vertbaudet and ikea

TheHonEnid · 28/03/2008 12:09

urchin blue safari one

they have more styles I think

MrsBadger · 28/03/2008 12:12

You need GLTC
trains
miscellaneous transport
diggers

Ikea ones are all cotton too but they don't have any transport-y ones at the moment

rosealbie · 28/03/2008 12:12

Gisela Graham has a nice one in range for boys. Quite pricey but my dd has a fairy one and the quality is good.

MNersanonymous · 28/03/2008 12:14

Thanks.

Will call Habitat and ask for descriptions of what they have in before treking to the store.
The Urchin one is nice but a bit 'busy'.

I'm fine to pay a bit more - within reason - I want it to be good quality.

urchin have plain gingham and cowboy ones iirc

Tiggerish · 28/03/2008 12:27

Vertbaudet do 100% cotton ones. not sure about the designs though

MNersanonymous · 28/03/2008 12:41

Feather and Black, lovely crispy, heavy cotton. DS has the Noah's Ark set, which is badly photograped on the site but has embroidered animals marching across the centre of the duvet cover.

Designers Guild also has good quality cotton bedding. DS has a couple from there too.

rosealbie · 28/03/2008 12:58

Actually (and I really didn't have this in mind when posting) but a friend of mine sells Gisela Graham stuff. I can ask her if she can get one if you like.

MNersanonymous · 28/03/2008 13:15

Would you? Where is she based?

OP posts:
rosealbie · 28/03/2008 13:19

She is based in Somerset. I can ring her later. She does sell some of her stock through an ebay shop Cherubeanies, but I don't think she has one listed at the moment. I've got a feeling she is getting this in as new stock so might well have one.

Do you want to give me your email and I can let you know or if you prefer, I'll post back on here.

MNersanonymous · 28/03/2008 13:57

Would you post your email as I want to preserve my anonymity on general posts (!) - or maybe if I subscribe you can CAT me - I'm not a subscriber at the moment.

MNersanonymous · 28/03/2008 13:59

Hi again, I've found her site so can give her a call directly although that range is not on there at the moment.

OP posts:
rosealbie · 28/03/2008 14:15

Probably easier if you contact her direct anyway. Hope she can get you one!

horsemadgal · 28/03/2008 21:11

Ikea's are 100% cotton, cheap also.
But not sure if the designs are what you had in mind.

Tiggerish · 29/03/2008 08:09

IKEA ones are weird sizes though.

MrsBadger · 29/03/2008 09:50

not asny more - they have caught up with the real world!

MissHaversham · 31/03/2008 22:48

You could try the Gisela Graham Vintage cars quilt, here (Click on Gisela Graham, then Nursery and Children, then scroll down).

The quality is fantastic, you can wash and wash them, and they look good thrown over a plain duvet set.

MissHaversham · 01/04/2008 10:10

........when it's hot dd has one of these (diff design) on its own, good substitute for a summer-weight duvet.
