car with a good size boot, but cheapish to run, been looking at Zafira and Scénic, are they ok?

we have a new scenic & an old one & they are great. lovely size boot & you can fit 3 child seats in the back. i can have my buggy in the boot & fit my weekly shop in it too!

I second the scenic. Great car

Toyota corolla verso (or as it is now known toyota verso). 7 seater, 2 fold down (totally flat) seats i large boot. Back seats are 3 individual seats that move backwards and forwards like the front seats and can also be folded totally flat (again individually) creating a huge boot space if needed. Fits 3 car seats across, or 2 car seats and an adult. Very comfortable driving position, very short bonnet so not to long over all. Only negative is the bonnet slopes so you can't see where it ends which makes parking a little akward but you soon get used to it.

we are in the same boat, there was a review of top 100 cars in Auto Express this week, haven't seen it but my Dad is sending it to me so can tell more next week if you like. The 4 people carrier type cars which were in the survey were the VW Touran, something by Ford, the Zafira and the Scenic, and they were rated in that order. The scenic coming bottom, which I'm really disappointed about because I think it looks nice. Hmmmm.

Yes, the Scenic is great, although ours is only a 1.4 much to DFs dismay. The back seats come out as well, which is handy if you need a wee van, lol. We got ours 2nd haand in November after our Hyundai got written off. It felt right as soon as I sat in it.

The great thing about the Scenic is that it's not mahoosive like the people carriers. It is the Megane, but it's higher up, iykwim.

we have a galaxy which we take one seat out of so there is room for the dog. we are a family of 5 (plus dog and regular m-il visiting).

i have a ford ka which is really cheap to run (and ancient) and we share it for trips when its daft to take the big car.
we did have a scenic years ago and it was always going wrong. the galaxy is very reliable and tho annual service is expensive other than that its no costs.

We had a Renault Espace which we loved at fist but after a bit it was in the garage more than out, have recently changed for a space wagon and its fab

We've just bought a second hand Zafira and are really please with it. Liked S Max but way out of the budget. Looked at loads of MPVs - Zafira felt like a five seater with an extra two seats when needed wheras lots of the others felt like 7 seaters (we only have two DC so overkill really).

Boot space massive - I've had both the single and double three wheeler pushchairs in it.

Nothing flashy - pretty much does what it says on the tin, and as long as you are not bothered you're driving one of many, it's cool (lots around means lots available so lower prices than say Touran, Verso etc).

thank you going to look at a Zafira this morning i think! we two only have two dc but we need boot space and i ferry people about lots too
