problem with my printer?

Have recently acquired a new printer and while it works fine with one of our computers it doesn't print properly on normal speed with the other. It misses out part of each line. It will print at high quality. Anyone any idea why it works with one and not the other? They are not networked.

do you have a helpline no. in amongst the packaging? maybe you could give them a call. did you buy it from a shop?

Have you installed the same driver on both computers or did you select the printer from a list?

Thanks for replying. One computer runs windows 98 and installed the drivers itself, probably from the disc that came with the printer. With the other machine (running windows ME) I found the drivers on the canon website as I was in a hurry and didn't know where the disc had gone.
