Digital camera - for photographing babies/toddlers/children - reccommendations?

I'm looking for a digital camera for taking pictures of our new baby when she arrives next week and our 2 yr old toddler.
It has to be able to take lots of pictures quickly (is that shutter speed?), sufficient megapixels (7/8?) and be relatively small, otherwise it just won't get used.
It also has to have a decent zoom lens to take pictures in the park etc.
As you can probably tell I know nothing about cameras and am not sure what other features are important?
I'm willing to spend up to £200(ish).
Any suggestions/advice gratefully appreciated.

I got a Panasonic lumix DMC LS60 which got really good reviews for a budget camera and it's been brilliant. I don't think they do it any more but I guess a similar Panasonic one? If you google "camera reviews" there are quite a few sites.
