Am trying to find a dining table, and have seen a nice one but is glass top. i am worried about getting it as i have a very boisterous 2year old.

I know mieow has one, but i am still unsure.

I have been wondering the same thing Misdee. Our dinning table is falling apart and is no longer big enough, i saw a nice one in Argos but it had glass panels in so i wasn't sure.

I don't think i'd be happy with one that had a completey glass top.

LOL that exactly what i was thinking of Misdee, Ds has been known to climb on our current one and jump too.

I have really struggled to find any i like too, never thought it would be so hard.

Very bad idea imo. But my PILs used to have one and ds whacked it and broke it about 4 years ago, when he was 3. But if you must

Yes misdee, he whacked it, can't remember what with now, but a huge CRACK was heard and then it split like the ice does in those disaster films where skaters disappear into the icy depths. Iykwim!

I've seen my two podium dancing on my dining table, don't think I'd risk it personally. Love the leather chairs though.

additions do a lovely one with 6 leather effect chairs. I have one on order that hopefully will be arriving any day now. It is just plain wood (they do have a similar one with glass in the centre, but I wouldn't risk that with my DS) It is £429 from the Roma range.

What about this . Haven't done an extensive search so there may be a better deal to be had somewhere.

Or this it's reduced in the sale and there is 10% off for new customers and interest free credit!

That was the question i have been asking everyone lately! But we took the plunge just before xmas and got a lovely glass topped table with leather chairs. I am soo pleased we went for it now, as didn't see any wooden ones we liked.

I have 2 yr old dd and yes she has stood on it and jumped (and also has been doing that to our glass coffee table since she could walk!) Obviously i get her down straight away but she just thinks its a game!

Probably the only downside about glass tables, is i polish it virtually every day as finger prints and all show up. (s'pose novelty will wear off soon and will put up with fingerprints!! lol

Good luck happy shopping

I take that back it's not reduced in the sale but seems quite a good deal otherwise.

Sorry, my DH is watching Lara Croft and I'm bored but love shopping! Tell me to go away if I'm being a pest!

Just started going round in circles now, seems loads of the catalogues are offering the same sets at the same prices.

lol, misdee, you must have seen DS standing on mine, did you heard what he said to MIL on DD1s bday? He was standing on it and she said to get off, and he said "its not your table!!!"

demented, have a look at the roma one in additions direct. I'm sure its the same and its over £100 cheaper. if you take a look on additions direct, search for roma.

This is so hard!! too mant choices. i think the leather style chairs would be too much for my living room. its quite small really, but want the kids to eat at the table, and not off the floor like they currently do. It'll also help with stopping the dog grabbing food out of their hands.
