Salaam pukka

I haven't seen knee pads but what I used for DS with our laminate is big square padded jigsaw type mats from Early Learning Centre. I put them down in the hall way which was the main patch he crawled on and they can also be used to put near the sofa when they have finished crawling and start climbing things!

I'm off to Syria soon and I hate the marble floors with DS around - worry about cracked heads! Have asked MIL to leave the winter rugs down for safety!

suwoo · 26/03/2008 22:37

My nan knitted me some, I still have them if you would like them?

pukka · 26/03/2008 22:38

yes, that sounds like a good idea.
its in mom's house mostly. mom has lots of small carpets over marble lfoors, we have wood flooring here, but my kids were winter babies, so in lots of layers!
i'm sure they will do something like that, but i f i could find the knee pads it would be lovely. i'll get extra points for being the good auntie.

will these do

wheresthehamster · 26/03/2008 22:41

I thought this was a joke! Like the sterile maternity pads and baby-wipe warmers from yesterday!

I need educating. Why do you need knee pads? (serious question)

That's funny. My friend was going to start a business selling these and I laughed.

But somebody really wants them.

suwoo · 26/03/2008 22:44

Pukka, she probably used some random bedsock pattern or something . Hamster, I used them with DS to stop him from ruining all his jeans by wearing the knees thin. I only used them once or twice as the idea was better than the practicality.

pukka · 26/03/2008 22:46

ooo, those are perfect. fab fab fab.
thank you.

well, i dont need them. but i have a nephew. and he is cute and adorable, and i want to eat him up. and my mom has a house with lots of marble covered floor space, and it will be hot, so no sturdy jeans to protect my nephews chubby chops, did i mention he is cute? and adorbale? and my only nephew? i have no niece either.

You sound like a lovely caring family to me! I'm a bit

PussinFabergeEggs · 26/03/2008 23:02

Pukka - are your family in Damscus at all? If so, you can post them to me to take over when I go - I really don't mind

PussinFabergeEggs · 26/03/2008 23:02

Damascus rather....

pukka · 26/03/2008 23:06

yes, i'm very lucky with my sisters.
we sometimes discuss teh reasons why we are so close, and get on so well. because it seems we are the weird ones
i think life always balances out. when one part of life is truly terrible, other parts are good . recognising the good bits is important.

the babuska website only take paypal. i think i will call them in the morning and find out if the will accept a cheque.

thank you puss, but no, they are in pakistan.
dsis, other one, i have three, is going in april, so she can take them. in fact, little does she know, but she is only allowed to take along perhaps one change of underwear. i have used up all her baggage allowance already.

OP posts:
PussinFabergeEggs · 26/03/2008 23:13

Our baggage allowance is rapidly being used up by MIL....she wants shoes, then a big tub of aqueous cream...then she wants eye liner...then she wants a cardigan and a top -although she changed her mind about this a lot - ranging from 'oh I'm going to die soon so why do I need new clothes' to 'oooh makes sure its not the same colours as before' then expensive vitamins..DH buys them all and she then decides the bog standard cod liver oil capsules are better and could we bring those too....

Er...we do have a toddler to pack for too...

bettybeetroot · 26/03/2008 23:16

pukka - you don't need a paypal a/c - there is an option to pay with debit/credit card (if you have one that is)

pukka · 26/03/2008 23:20

blind idiot

thank you for pointing out the obvious beety
