Baths: Steel vs Acrylic

We need a new bath. We've got a steel one and so I was thinking of replacing it with a steel one, but does having an acrylic bath have advantages?

We just replaced our plastic one with a steel one. We love the new one and hated the old! Plastic felt cheap, looked cheap, wasn't as deep (though obv. that was just the bath we had) but more importantly it flexed up and down (when an adult would get in and out of it) just enough to crack any sort of sealant that went between the bath and the wall. Thus water would get down the cracks and drip on the floor, creating a wet patch on our downstairs ceiling. We tried various silicones etc, but it just kept happening.

Think you've sold me on a steel one there! I'm glad I asked though (and that you answered), as DH is quite a big bloke and so presumably that would mean quite a lot of flexing!

That sorts out that then ... just the dither as to where to get the stuff from now!

Thanks again.

Steel - looks nicer, so much better keeps the heat longer (IMO) feels nicer, looks nicer, moves less, did I mention it looks nicer
