can anyone recommend a high chair with a seat high enough to pull up under a kitchen breakfast bar i.e worktop height of about 90cm? I have a svan high chair which I love but the seat is much too low to do this and I would like my 18 month old to be able to sit at the breakfast bar and play/watch me. thanks

a trip trap or similar? I have two of these for my girls and can move their seat height up or down depending on their height - am not sure re height for breakfast bar - you could try checking them on a web site

What about a booster seat on the chair/stool? We did this, but it depends how stale your stols are.

what about a handy sitt? they fix to a chair so can be any height.

a very good point well made LizandLulu - we also have one of those and its great for guests and chucking in back of car for going to stay at relatives

i use mine as a regular highchair. i do remember a mumsnetter having trouble with her ds pushing himself backwards off the table. but think that was a one off case as i havent heard anyone else having that problem.

same suggestion, ignored

im sorry, when i think of booster seats, i dont think of a handy sitt. maybe cause i use mine everyday, i dont carry it around like i would a usual booster seat.

we have the fresco bloom loft high chair it is designed for higher worktops, breakfast bar etc. Pricey but looks very cool as well.

thanks so much for those suggestions. I LOVE the look of the fresco bloom but might be a bit pricey given I already have the Svan! will have to be v nice to dh and see what he thinks! however the handysitt would probably work well on one of our stools and be useful for taking to grandparents etc
thanks again
