My lovely stepdaughter will be 40 on her next birthday, and there's still time to organise something. It will be a term-time weekday. She has three children of primary age and below. Both she and her husband teach; he's full time and she's part-time. They live in a rural area. Their small house is full, and they don't have much spare money. I am trying to think of an imaginative gift that will 'bring joy'. I thought of eg pampering - but who'd look after the kids? I thought of clothes, but I don't really know what she needs/wd like.
