Is there anything special about the mattress? Could you take the old one to an upholsterer and get the same size foam cut (assuming you have a serviceable mattress cover?)

I don't know if that would be OK - to me it's just a bit of foam.

ooh I could do that!

where can you go to buy bits of foam/get them cut to size

i have no idea about this, am just speculating, BUT is the foam in baby mattresses special? it could be? thinking of fumes etc, they may use a special low-fume type of foam, or it may be treated with special stuff.

i wouldn't risk it tbh, I'd just pay the £25, it's not that much money in the fgrand scheme of things,
or ebay??

I attempted to remove the foam when dd puked on it but it is impossible and ended up buckled and we had to get a new one. I think it would be nearly impossible to squeeze new foam into the mattress cover, also I wouldn't be happy putting a baby on some random foam. Good luck - Amby hammocks rock! (quite literally)

But don't you take the foam mattress out to wash the cover? I mean, I know it's a fight, but it gets done once in a while?

What happened to the old one, is it beyond use?

ideally I would like not to have to spend £25 on a new amby mattress is there anywhere sells amby mattresses for better price than £25 .....x
