I picked up a Jeep 3-wheeler at a car boot sale today. Are they any good?

Car boot sales are the ultimate in impulse buying. Had done no research on the Jeep 3 wheeler but found it and managed to get it for a bargainous £10!!!!!
But is it a bargain?
I'll stick a picture of it on my profile.
I cleaned it up, looks in decent condition, doesn't smell or anything.
I went for a trial run to the shop and it seemed really bouncy which I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.
Anybody got one?

what is it?

Icantbelieveitsnotdragonbutter · 23/03/2008 23:44

It's a Jeep pushchair, I don't know anymore than that, I've added a photo to my profile now.

oooh well worth a tenner i'd say, i could be doing with something like that for my dd lol

Icantbelieveitsnotdragonbutter · 23/03/2008 23:55

Anyone know if it's supposed to be quite bouncy?

bouncy? Do the tyres need pumping/deflating? It looks lovely on your pic.

soremummy · 24/03/2008 12:40

It look in fab condition. If you feel like it wobbles when pushing it the tyres will need pumping up.

soremummy · 24/03/2008 12:41

I have a m & P 03 and that is quite bouncy but dd loves it and sleeps well in it and its a dream to push

Icantbelieveitsnotdragonbutter · 24/03/2008 22:06

The tyres are well pumped up. The bouncing seems to come from the frame. DH reckons it's supposed to be like that for suspension. Just seems a bit bouncy for going round the shops?

OP posts:

does it feel like the frame is loose?is there any movement in it?
if it has suspension you should be able to see it??
i wouldn't worry as long as the frame seems solid enough.

RadlettRebel · 24/03/2008 23:34

I hink they are a bit bouncy. Excellent suspension, but quite large to store?

Icantbelieveitsnotdragonbutter · 25/03/2008 09:52

Not so large to store compared to my double pushchair. Feels tiny in comparison.
Must be suspension as the frame seems to be intact.
I'll need to take it into town to test drive it fully.
(sorry if this is the most boring thread to ever exist on mumsnet)
and thanks

look like a bargain to me

Icantbelieveitsnotdragonbutter · 25/03/2008 10:00

I feel bad though. They looked like boot sale novices. They wanted £20 but didn't seem confident in naming their price. I said I could only do £10. They said no.
10 minutes later it started raining heavily so with nothing to lose and a lot of nerve i went back and asked if it was £10 now it was raining!
Worst bit was as I opened up my wallet i had to untangle my tenner from another one and they noticed.

Now that i think i got a bit of a bargain I feel bad. What's that about?

EdieMcredie · 25/03/2008 11:02

Oh bless you! Don't worry, sounds like you did well!

sazm · 25/03/2008 12:20

haha lol, i love boot sales, but im the same lol i feel guilty, haha but def a bargain,
so long as the frame is fine i wouldnt worry, maybe the tyres are too hard?

Icantbelieveitsnotdragonbutter · 25/03/2008 13:29

I do have some carboot principles. I never haggle with children who are selling their old toys.
But adults with posh cars, that's another story.
