I'm looking for a washing machine for my dad. Budget is around £200. It will only get light use but will have to deal with his work clothes and occationally my ds clothes!

Any suggestions are very welcome, there are so many to choose from!!

Following advice from mumsnet We bought a Zanussi last month and its a really fab washer, our best yet! May be a bit over budget though I think we paid about £270 but they do have cheaper versions, we needed a big one as we have 3 kids!

The general advice I was given was to steer clear of Hotpoint.

Think I would go and have a look at whats on offer.

Bosch Clasixx 1200 Express Is a bit more than your budget, but is very good. Don't buy indesit. We had one that lasted less than 2 years.

i have had a hotpoint for 6yrs and have just traded it for the newer model and love it,
my sister also bought the hotpoint as i loved mine so much, she has had it a yr and no probs either.
my other sister has an indesit and has had nothing but bother with it. my mother-in-law has a hoover one and has had lots of probs with it too.

Bosch, they're great!

I also have a bosch. I googled for one of those websites that brings up all the prices of all the sellers to find the cheapest price. It was about £230 but I got the 1600 spin speed and they had slower spin speed ones cheaper.
Really annoying me that I can't remember the name of the comparison website... anyone help?

I have had a hoover washer drier which has done well for the last 7 years and have just bought a new hoover washer drier. I also avoid hotpoint - weren't they on watchdog at some point??
