at what age/size did you change the pram to seat? ds is now 12 weeks old and approx 15lb (was 14lb10 over a week ago). He is supporting head and upper shoulders and neck well. Still seems happy in pram but I am wondering wether he would be happier seeing more of what is going on.

Also he is crying whenever put in carseat (maxi cosi), anyone else had this and know why?

Well I think that with the cameleon there was a recommendation that the baby should be 6 months. As it was, ds was quite hefty and more than anything he was strong, and he went into the seat at about 5 months, so still a way to go.
Not had problems with car seat - though if your baby is not happy with the car seat, it might be because of the more upright seated position, which is similar in the seat of the pram.

thanks pooka. ds2 is also quite big, on the 91st centile and strong. Will wait then till he is older before changing it over.

Put him in carseat without snowsuit on and he was happy... think snowsuit is the problem now.

I read in my frog manual that they said the pushchair seat was okay in reclined position from 3/4 months provided it was only for a couple of hours at a time which is what they say for a car seat as well. HTH

Thanks cargirl. Does help. I think i will hang fire on changing it for a while then. Whole reason we got the bugaboo system was so he was lying flat. Never bothered witht he adaptors for the carseat and didnt want him all bunched up.

I've got a cameleon and swapped it at about five months too. He may be crying in the car seat because he can't see you - or anything he finds familiar - do you have a toy or a mirror he could look at? Also - as he's gaining weighth so well - have you checked the straps aren't now too tight?

MamaMaiasaura · 23/03/2008 22:39

i always hang birdie on his carseat and we have a babyview mirror. Straps are ok, on higher holes now. I wonder if he feels too restricted with snowsuit on as well though. Bless him, he is usually a happy baby who loves lots of cuddles.

is he in the car in his snowsuit? He may be too hot if that's the case - perhaps try a cardigan with a hood? Birdie sounds cute!

might be too hot crys when i put snowsuit on him for school run, wether pram or carseat but more commonly carseat. I am a dunce.
