Do I need one or two? I am so sick of towels so have decided to take the plunge!

one. they are FANTASTIC, you're doing the right thing...

Habbibu · 19/03/2008 22:27

One, unless you're very forgetful about where you put things. They're fab.

Hulababy · 19/03/2008 22:27

Just the one

brimfull · 19/03/2008 22:27

well I have been using the same one for about 6 yrs now

may treat my fanjo to a new one soon

StripeyMama · 19/03/2008 22:27

How many fanjos have you got?

iheartdusty · 19/03/2008 22:27

One!

(why did you think you might need more than one? you take it out, empty and rinse, and pop back in, then clean and put away at the end of your period).

Aitch · 19/03/2008 22:30

actually... i empty then dab with a bit of toilet paper and then rinse. much less likely to splash that way...

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 22:30

Aaaaaaah, I thought you sterilised it each time you took it out! He he! Silly me! Am so embarrassed to be excited about a menstrual product!

a mooncup is basically a cup that you stick up your fanjo, am i right?? is there no leakage if it gets too full?

just wondering if i should jump on board the mooncup boat as part of a severe cost cutting excercise while i'm on maternity leave (soap nuts in the post etc etc)

cunningly there are teensy holes at the top of the cup so that it actually WILL leak and so that you can break the suction.
suffice it to say as a former super plus tampon wearer i now change my mooncup much less frequently than i used to. tbh i just do it every time i go to the loo, so it kind of takes care of itself. they really are great, so much cleaner and fresher.

Have one slight worry-my fanjo changed shape after dd and so haven't been able to wear tampons at all since-they slowly start falling out as I walk-this won't happen will it? Argh!

OP posts:
Aitch · 19/03/2008 22:54

hope not. make sure you get the bigger sized one, but also i think i'm right in saying that mooncup will refund you if it doesn't work out, so it's worth a try.

No, shouldn't - mooncup goes in diff place from tampons, and you get the size that's for people who've had a vaginal delivery. Am having to use pads at the moment and they are a monumental pain - am pining for mooncup.

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 22:55

He he I now have fanjo fear! Argh!

Hurrah for the 'cup! This is the most bizzare conversation I have ever had! Went for the large vaginal delivery over 30's size!

Aitch · 19/03/2008 23:06

this is the most bizarre convo you've ever had on MN? are you new?

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:07

He he, no, but ususally end up on the "which kitchen shall I buy" threads! He he!

OP posts:
Aitch · 19/03/2008 23:13

then sally forth, dear girl, and you'll soon find your fanjo is the least of your worries...

Feelingbetterslowly · 19/03/2008 23:16

Oh no-what other worries may there be besides my mutated cobwebbed fanjo?
