Arch supports - in leather or suede?

My metatarsal (sp) arch has fallen - apparently

The Hosp has made me some lovely supports in leather - in a size 6 (I'm a 5). They normally send a bigger size 'cos they can be cut down - at least the plastic/rubber ones can. The handmade leather (pigskin) ones can't.

I solved this problem by buying a size 6 and wearing them constantly. Pain in foot gone. Great!!

However on holiday in flowery dress I feel black patent lace ups might be a little incongruous (sp)

Where oh where can I find leather inserts I can put in sandals??

btw I have an allergy to rubber/plastic & adhesives

I have to say I don't really know, but my mom has had some success with the Dr Scholl's shops. But she can only wear one type of shoe (Mary Janes with an insert) without any pain.

Hope you find something that works and the holiday is great.
