We woke up this am and the tv is sadly no more, the power switch just won't work. it has had a good innings and it seems a good time to switch to digital anyway.

i looked in the argos catalogue and was shocked by how many ££££ tvs are these days! our current tv is about 28 inches and something similar and i guess lcd would be the way to go.

we don't want to spend loads, maybe £250-400..? (and that is a LOT of money to us so i like value for money and a bargain!)

any ideas?

Panasonic 26" LCD - £430.

Sony 32" - £460

My brother recently bought a bigger Panasonic one for £5-600 (can't remember) and he is thrilled with it (this or similar). It has built-in Freeview and although reception is quite poor where he lives the pictures on the new one are fantastic!

Obv you can get large LCD TVs for a lot less than these but IME (and Which's ) it's worth paying the extra for Panasonic or Sony.
