Stair gate for awkward opening - any recommendations?

We are struggling to find a stair gate to fit an awkward opening - essentially we need one which is a bit shorter than most. We also need the mountings to be adjustable so accommodate a very thick piece of skirting one one side. Any suggestions?

hi,we had a similar prob and my step-dad made us a gate.
he put 2 pieces of wood at each side of the stairs to make a runner,and made us a piece of wood to slide in and out of it. that way you could just cut out the bit for the skirting.
it was GREAT

we use the kiddyguard gate from spaces 0 -130cm wide and dh attached a block of wood for top thing to attatch to as our skirted was bulky as well.
