£500 for something in MDF that will get chipped and battered in no time.
Are you insane??

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 15/03/2008 23:43

dont see why it should chip and batter

could last years - should last years

but i wouldnt pay that for bunk beds, BUT they are GORG lol,and if your going to get a lot of years out of them i would go for it.

Double check what size mattress it takes. I think Habitat are like Ikea and use European sizing which is a bugger if you need new mattresses as you can't go to most shops or get the great deals.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/03/2008 20:23

thankyou all - i am a little vexed about mattress size

I am tied into it now as we went to 'look at them' and they had an ex display matching chest of drawers for 70% off so that is now downstairs

I like this one.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 16/03/2008 20:37

yes i went to ikea and saw that one - the price made me a bit about the habitat one so i quickly encouraged dp towards a swarming crowd and he was caught up in the flow and swept by!

Have to agree with moondog, MDF will (and does) chip.
For that kind of money I'd get a solid wood bunk bed instead, IKEA, Aspace, J Lewis sell them.
I don't think you need to match the bed with the chest, you could get a simple bunk bed and have it sprayed in the same colour.
I really dont rate MDF, we have used it in our house and it chips very easily, esp with lively boys around....

Natural Mat sell some really nice modern stylish children's furniture which is abit different to anything on the highstreet.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 19/03/2008 20:03

thankyou but now bed is ordered - starts stressing about mdf chipping.....
