double buggy - Does it matter if you exceed Maclarens reccommended max weight?

We need a double buggy for occasional use when our 2nd baby arrives in April and can't really decide what to get so will probably get a Maclaren as we've been happy with the single Maclaren we've had and they're reliable and reasonably priced 2nd hand.
The problem is our son will be almost 15kg when the new baby arrives.
The maclaren website says the twin techno has a 'Carrying Capacity up to 30kg (15kg in each seat) / 110lb (US)'.
(doesn't sound right, are US lb's smaller than UK lb's?).
The maclaren website says the twin Triumph has a 'Carrying Capacity up to 30kg / 110lb (US)'.
For the triumph it doesn't say 15kg in each seat?
I'm sure we'll only use it for a year when our son will be just over 17kg.
Does it matter if you exceed the reccommended weight by 1 or 2 kgs?

No it won't matter but double mac's weigh an ABSOLUTE TONNE. suprisingly since the singles are so light weight. I've always had singles, brill buggies. My fav doubles ( I have one of each, second hand!) are phil and teds for town stuff and instep nipper for walks.

I didn't know they had a max load, we were given a double maclaren and I have DTs in it, one of 18kg and one 13kg and I don't notice a problem. Apart from its very difficult to stear and get up kerbs.

I also have a Nipper Double which is much lighter and easier to push, but DTs not so comfy in it now (2.4yrs), they find the seats a bit buckety.

I spoke to a lady in mothercare and she said the 15kg limit is the limit up to which Maclaren have tested the buggy but people often carry 4 or 5 yr old children in them without any problem.
