miele are really good - long guarrantee too - but expensive. What I have noticed about them are they are really quiet compared to others - so if that is an issue for you might be worth splashing out.

Don't get a Zanussi - mine caught fire the other week. Bosch are meant to be good.

My Bosch is great. Just the basic model but we only ever use the Eco wash setting anyway. The cycle is very long, but I think they all are. I would recommend it.

I have a John Lewis one, I'm very happy with it - and it came with a 3 year guarantee

We recently bought a new one, and looked quite carefully before buying. Bosch now dod a "budget" range, which imo are not as good. we had a smeg previously, which looked great but was always going wrong. we have a siemens now, with a 5 year (free) warranty. so far, it's been great, although not as quiet as the smeg, if that's an issue for you. I think Miele are supposed to be the best, so if you see one of them on special offer it might be a good buy.
