Shower curtain versus shower screen ... Homebase Sliding Panel Screen - any good?

Our bathroom is really small and I'm thinking that with children it might be better, safer and more practical to have a shower curtain hanging over one end of the bath rather than have a screen which may or may not get in the way. But I saw that Homebase are advertising a 'Sliding 2 Panel Shower Screen' and that seemed like quite a good idea ... has one got one of these and are they good?

We have one from Argos that folds out. Will try and find link if interested??

Yes please, if you are happy with yours.

somebody here raves about this one so I've saved it for when we do our bathroom.

It just folds completely away which is ideal for a small bathroom

Haven't seen one of those before Furball! Guess you'd have to make absolutely sure that it was dry before you folded it back each time or else it might start going a bit mildew'y perhaps?

this is basically ours.

I would remember to wipe it down each time it is used as I haven't (DH uses it, not me) and the seal has gone black.

aparently not snowstorm it looks after itself - cos I asked the same question

I really like the idea of the one you have NAB, but my parents got one and said it leaked at the bottom and my friend has one and she really likes it but says it could do with one panel more ... and she's about a quarter of the width of DH.

The bathroom man who came yesterday suggested one of those solid screens that apparently folds back against the wall across the bath, but seeing as the taps would make sure that it stuck out quite far, I can't help but think that that might be a problem when the DD's are in the bath.

I'm tempted to go for a shower curtain which doesn't look so nice and modern but it's neat enough, won't get in the way of the children and, if it gets discoloured at the bottom then it's cheap enough to replace.

All thoughts welcome though ...

Would go for a shower curtain. Screens need too much cleaning anyway as well as getting in the way in a small bathroom. If a shower curtain gets manky after a year or whatever, you can chuck it out and replace it easily.

We have the one that Furball talks about (maybe i was the one who raved about it originally ). from our experience, you put it away wet and it drys folded up, very occasionally i have sprayed it with a mildew cleaner as a preventative measure, but other than that, no maintenance required.

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/03/2008 11:40

It was me who raved about it before furball, not my dopey dh . Glad to hear you are still planning on getting one.

Can't recommend it highly enough Snowstorm.
