Ready Bed - any good?

Hi,

Am thinking about getting a ready bed as we often travel to stay with family/friends.

Have a 3yrs old and soon she will be too big for travel cot, so thinking about a ready bed.

Would you recommend them? Is it big enough for them to lie in/ roll over?

What age do they go up to?

Is the one with a barrier (roll up at side) better for a toddler or the normal one?

Sorry for all the questions but want as much info as poss before spending money.

Cheers!

i bought the one without sides.
seemed alright... not v nice fabric, but easy to pump up etc. the kids got excited about it (was for sleepovers at my dads) but tbh, we've never used it as my dad put a guard rail on his bed and i chuck all the kids in there, and kip in with them. and now we've lost some bits...

so, er, not much a review. sorry.
the ones with sides do look better imo.

last time i went up to my dads, i took a beach UV tent, put that up in his room (pushed the bed to the side of room) filled it with 3 old cot mattresses and blankets and they all slept in there. and i got the bed to meself

do you have an old cot mattress? if you have a carboot big enough, id say use that instead.

I have one of those readybeds (I think) a mattress with a sleeping bag built in. It was great for DS last summer, it's close enough to the floor for him not to be hurt if he falls out, and it does pack down to a handy case.

I've used them and got the ones without the sides, which were fine for ds when he was 3. The dc love them!

I had one but it burst very shortly after buying as ds used it as a trampoline. The fabric is very nylony and sweaty. I wouldn't buy another.

dd loikes hers, used since abotu 2years old. with sidey bits, pump not great so we used electric one we already had, but folds up really small. fabric ok, we used blankets on top too as not very thick cover. but deff a success with dd!

DD loves hers - started with one of the My First Readybeds with sides, now has one of the longer ones with zip up cover.

I'd get the bigger one for a 3yr old. DD has used bigger one since 3.6yrs.

Great for camping, staying at friends' houses with no spare single beds etc

yep, we borrowed one from my sis for our then 2yo and he was fine in it (he slept in it for a couple of weeks while we waite on his new bed coming!)
it like a sleeping bag so they cant really falle out of it anyways,i would def get the bigger size than you will get your moneys worth out of it,
my sis has a 12yo and he still (just) fits in it!
