personally i would love a multipla, but its out of our 'motability' price range.

we have just ordered a c-max, so need to know where we stand with cancelling that order as well.

but looking at the price list its between the vauxhall zafira or the citreon grand c4 picasso.

anyone got any views on either.

i'm not a zafira fan, admittingly, but needs must and all that.

I have a Zafira on Motability and its ok to drive. Boot space is miniscule with the 2 rear seats up though, you'd need an umbrella fold buggy. I also find it a bit tricky to access the 2 rear seats and don't think you'd get 3 child car seats on the centre row. Wish I'd gone for the Renault Grand Scenic and we've only got one dc atm.

congratulations btw

misdee · 13/03/2008 19:48

thank you

can fit 3 car seats in the middle as my sister does. she has 4 dc and only have one rear seat up.

Ah thats re-assurrign to hear the 3 car seats fit in the middle although I guess it does depend on what size they are.

We had to pay £1300 advance payment for our Zafira as I need an automatic.

marmitemad · 13/03/2008 19:57

oops, sorry about the spelling, have had one glass of wine after a bad week here

dizzydixies · 13/03/2008 19:58

sorry I don't know the prices

don't think it has great boot space anyway
infact, its a stupid stupid car so why would you even consider it

grand scenic? we're looking at those for arrival of dc3 in july

misdee · 13/03/2008 19:58

Hi, sorry Ive been posting loads on this topic, ie 7 seaters and 3 across the back seat. Weve opted for Touran but in the end it was a the Touran versus Renault Grand Scenic. The Grand Scenic seems pretty spacious. You can easily fit 3 child seats accross - we put in a combination of baby, stage 2 maxi cosi, and high back booster (also maxi cosi). These also went in Touran but not in Zafira (despite approx 3 hours spent at two halfords and a mothercare world - trying the thinnest combinations). We didnt have Isofix fittings in our Zafira and only tried out the Touran and Grand SCenic with a first born rearfacing isofix seat and our own seats. Have a ride in the grand scenic if you're still deciding. IN the end weve opted for the Touran but it was a close call. The Renault Grand Scenics are pretty reasonable second hand - sorry if you've already discounted them. I think there might be some offers on teh VW Tourans also at the moment but i dont know about finance etc. hope this is helpful. The rear zafira seats are harder to access unless they've changed the 2nd row seats.

we aren't buying the car, we 'hire' it on the motability car hire scheme for 3 years.

we have decided on the zafira, it does what we need it to, and is in our price range without being bank breaking.
