Anyone know anything about countertop dishwashers?

We live in rented accommodation with a fitted kitchen so no room under the counters. But my mum keeps going on about countertop dishwashers. TBH I never knew they existed but apparently they do and I have a sneaking suspicion it just might save my relationship with DH!

Has anyone got one or know anything about them? There is only 3 of us so doesn't matter that they are small, but with a baby and a small kitchen we are finding it difficult to keep on top of everything.

They look like a pain, you have to attach them to the taps every time you use them and they would take up lots of counter space.

I have a Zanussi, it takes 5 place settings, you need to screw a tap into the cold water pipe (bought one at homebase and did it myself) and you never need to detach or reattach at any point. They work a charm and even has an eco cycle. It warms its own water so no need to attach to hot water either. We took off one of the cupboard doors in our rented house and it fits perfectly in the cavity, the external dimensions are 55cm wide x 48cm deep x 42cm high. I've been using ours since Nov 2005 and have not had any problems, oh and I bought it from currys over the phone and they offered me a discount too.

I can recommend them!

thanks for that link. We need to get one for my Dad and that sounds perfect.

Thanks for that link space puppy.

TDWP I don't think it would take up any more counter space than all the washing up we have on the surface!

Anyone tried any other brands?
