Anyone have a springfree trampoline?

And do you have grass underneath it?

Am trying to decide whether enough light will get through to keep the grass alive, or whether to put bark down underneath it?

bark would be less hassle..
if grass did grow you would only have to cut it

SparklyGothKat · 10/03/2008 21:33

mmmmmm I might put bark down, as my grass is dead under the trampoline

cheeseontoast · 10/03/2008 21:33

That's true choccy, but bark might turn into a cats toilet

does anyone have a springfree trampoline? We are discussing that or the Jumpking pod. Does the jumpking's enclosure fit securely round the trampoline making it impossible to slip through, does anyone know?

As for the bark question, a friend of mine's son emerged from under their trampoline where he had gone to recover his football covered in cat poo. Sooooo disgusting, it was all over his clothes, legs and arms. They have bark under theirs.

We have a large spring free trampoline, and it is fairly easy to move (well, with three people). We have it on our grass and move it every month to mow beneath it.

The actual trampoline is brill. It is silent, unlike our neighbour's springy one. Our enclosure makes it impossible to get through.

Thanks Votadina. We don't have that much space for one so will probably go for the 8ft which has as much jumping space as a 10ft apparently. Hope it will seem big enough for dc.

We saw a 12ft one today. It was in W. Sussex. Did you view before you bought? Would you mind telling me where you got yours from? Thank you

Link please for a spring free one

Not buying one, we have a springy one, just interested

Votadina · 09/04/2008 21:11

Yes, with a spring free, you don't lose 2ft diameter for springs. You get to use the whole trampoline.

we got ours from Costco.

First google hit gave this:

www.springfreetrampoline.com.au/

We got ours from Costco, and it originated in Canada. I'm pretty sure it's the same as the ones in this link.

The spring comes from the diagonal carbon-fibre rods under the trampoline. It is really amazing - and silent!

You have to have a business to go to costco, don't you? Would you mind telling me how much is was? At rainbowplay.co.uk (sorry princessmel can't do links! they start from £500 I think up to 650 or so)

friendly · 09/04/2008 21:17

also at www.springfreetrampoline.co.uk (still can't do links)

Votadina · 09/04/2008 21:18

It is not necessary to have a business - you can get individual memberships.

I think our trampoline was around £250, but it was two years ago, so the memory has faded.

Costco are stocking the oval springfree at the moment. You could call them and ask for a price.

I don't think I will be going for a few weeks, otherwise I would check it out.

friendly · 09/04/2008 22:15

thanks votadina I'll do that

barbamama · 25/04/2008 22:37

did anyone get one from Costco in the end? How much were they?

mumsfun · 12/04/2011 20:00

I'm trying to decide between a trampoline with a zip & toggles. Can anyone advise which one is best and why?!!
