Hi, I have had my 2 choc browm leather settees since last August, and the middle seats on both of them have tiny spider like cracks on them, like the choc brown has split open to reveal a light brown inside. Please tell me that they aren't supposed to do this..........
I haven't put any products on it, and every other bit looks like new still. I rarely sit on them to watch tv (usually sat here on cumputer if free time) and dh sits on the end one to lean on sides. Kids don't sit still.
Any help please.......... thanks

YOu need to condition the leather every 6-12m to stop it drying out otherwise it will crack.

You can buy products with almond oil or beeswax in. I think one of hte major ranges is "John Sheridon" or something like that

But I've only had it 6 months, so surely it wouldn't be like that in that time? And the rest looks like new still, especially the seats we sit in most!

It probably shopuldn't - but if it is in a heavily central heated hom with no moisture in the air it will need conditioning more often.

Just an update, the man from the shop came out today and said it shouldn't do that, but some parts of the hide stretch more than others. He has re-dyed it and fixed it, but if it happens again they will recover the cushions, I was really pleased with this. He also said don't need to moisturise leather settees now, only very old ones needed it.
