Bugaboo footmuffs, are they all different sizes?

Just bought a used footmuff and its great but it doesn't seem to fit my Frog, it is too long, esp at the top of the seat.
Does anyone know how to tell the footmuffs apart - there is no info on the label (and nothing mentioned on the Bugaboo website)?
Thanks

Can you post a pic pannacotta? What colour is it on the outside and inside?

Pannacotta · 09/03/2008 22:37

Hi there, it is black with a light grey lining, looks like this one really

Not sure how to work out which model its for!

my cameleon one has dark grey lining
when I had my lovely froggy the footmuff was exactly like that in the link
Cameleon and gecko do not come in navy so for sure mine was a froggy one

Pannacotta · 09/03/2008 22:45

Maybe it is a frog one then, but it seems huge, way too long, unless I was just so tired when I tried it that I got it all wrong (quite possible at the mo)...
I thought they hooked over the back of the seat unit bit, but this one doesnt seem to.
Shame not more info on the Bugaboo site.

my forg one did [hmm} have got all the toggles loosened?

Pannacotta · 09/03/2008 22:53

Just checked it again now and it is too big, I wasn't imagining it! It's too wide and too long, and doesn't hook over the back.
Will have to continue the search. Oh well, thanks anyway Piffle.

really? Pull in the toggles loads I know I thought I had been done first time I tried to fit mine. and I had frog and cameleon at the same time and footmuff were interchangeable although cam one was longer I think but still fitted ok. Could it be a gecko one? I know nothing about them though

Pannacotta · 10/03/2008 09:44

WIll try that, thanks.
Can I ask if your Cam footmuff has a bit of fabric in the middle on the back to hook over the bottom part of the seat unit? This one has that but the seat unit on the Frog is all in one so no way of using this to secure it.
Not sure how the Cam works but know its not the same as the Frog, am confused!!

nope mine is not like that. It just sits in secured by the seat harness... Have you got pics?

Piffle · 10/03/2008 09:54

could it be for that fugly new bee bugaboo thing I wonder?or gecko. Sounds very odd

Pannacotta · 10/03/2008 10:02

I can do pics but no idea how to post on here!
I dont think its very new, it might be for the Gecko I suppose, though isnt tht newer than the Cam?
Am not at all peeved as the person I bought it from didnt know which it was for and I should have checked, thought they were universal

so did I... Try bugaboo.com and you can get instructions for each pram and accessory. Inxannot check as am on iPod!

Piffle · 10/03/2008 10:32

you should get your money back for it if you flog it on ebay again?

Pannacotta · 10/03/2008 10:32

I did check bugaboo website (and have instructions for the Frog) but no info on the footmuffs, poo bah!
Thanks anyway. Will keep looking....

Hi, the Frog footmuffs always had grey/beige fleece lining and a drawstring around the the top edge. They don't have a flap at the top which hooks over the top of the seat frame, you can tighten the drawstring instead. It does make the hood a bit tricky to fit but it will work with persistance!

Cameleon ones are the same colour inside and out. These also fitted on the Gecko.

The Bee has a different footmuff again and I don't think it fits on any other Bugaboo.

The best feature of any Bugaboo footmuff though is the little pocket underneath the seat part which fits nice and snugly over the lift-up seat bit of the seat unit then pushes down. This means that the footmuff never slides down as it is anchored under the seat and weight of the child.

I hope some of this makes sense?

Piffle · 10/03/2008 10:45

oh ha ha just checked mine on cameleon and it does have the flap!!! Just dont use it as have sheepskin seat liner!!!!

Pannacotta · 10/03/2008 10:52

Thanks Teaandcake, I must have the Frog one then, after all that!!
Will just have to fiddle around with it a bit, I found the hood hard to fit but must just need to adjust it more. I couldn't work out how the pocket flap bit on the back fitted either, thanks for the explanation.
Gosh I must be suffering from sleep deprivation more than I realised
Thanks v much for your help both of you!
