Summer shoes for 2.5 year old in March

Hi

I'm after some nice summer sandals for ds for a holiday next week. I am a bit reluctant to buy his main more expensive, properly fitted sandals now as they might be outgrown by summe so he'd get one week's use out of a £25 pair of Clarks.

Any ideas where I can get nice sandals that are maybe around £10 at this time of year. I've seen some in H and M and didn't like them.

Online would be best. Next directory's aren't in stock yet.

SaveScrabulous · 05/03/2008 17:37

Not a big ebay fan - long story to do with fraud!

lizandlulu · 05/03/2008 17:49

not online but have you tried adsa? therewas some in there last week. maybe other supermarkets will be getting summer stuff in too

SaveScrabulous · 05/03/2008 21:10

good thinking - will try there - no idea where the nearest one is though....might have to try Tesco instead.

Sainsbuys had a large selection of childrens sandals on display. Fake crocs £8, trad sandals about £10.

dizzydixies · 05/03/2008 21:27

brantano - do yu have one near you if not they do online and they stock clarks/hush puppies etc at lower prices - think maybe last seasons but does that really matter?!!?

SaveScrabulous · 05/03/2008 23:00

yes I don't think ds is going to care if they are last seasons....but I have never heard of Brantano so I doubt it will be nearby

Sainsburys it is I think

SS you can order them online and they'll deliver - worth a nosey if its startrite of hush puppies you're looking for - they also have ladies shoes if you feel the need

mustsleep · 06/03/2008 08:51

have you tried the catalogues, kayes, look again, choice

they already have all the summer stuff in

Novicecamper · 06/03/2008 08:54

I'd get a pair of crocs and stick with those - I know some people hate them but they are the best pair of shoes my boys have had as you can wear them all year round, you can wash them so getting them dirty is no issue. In the summer you wear without socks and the feet can 'breathe'.

I used to buy nice fitted sandals for mine which do look lovely, but crocs just rock for my boys.

dizzydixies · 06/03/2008 08:57

second crocs for kids too - my dd LOVES hers, wore them all last summer and because they're '2' sizes worth she can wear them all this summer - just as soon as it stops bloody raining

Novicecamper · 06/03/2008 09:14

dizzy - mine have worn them in the rain in winter too! They are great as you can easily shake them off into the porch rather than faffing with velcro or laces.

I wasn't sure about them last year but we got them in Cornwall so the kids could paddle in streams and they've been wearing them ever since.

dizzydixies · 06/03/2008 09:18

novice unfortunately when there is the slightest hint of rain mine HAS to be put in wellies as she is a 'wader' lol

brilliant for everything else other than wet/windy scottish winter

have you tried the crocs wellies, am tempted but wonder if only because I think they're cute!

Novicecamper · 06/03/2008 09:19

Oh right!!

No, not tried the wellies!

florenceuk · 06/03/2008 09:30

have you tried next? All their summer stock is online. Also Clarks appear to have all their Doodles in stock now.

SaveScrabulous · 06/03/2008 12:50

Are crocs really breathable if it is very hot!?
They look like they'd be clammy
I tried Next and they said none of the ones I wanted were in stock.
