Am due in oct 08 and am a cm so when i return to work in january i will have baby, 2.4 y/o and 20mthold plus dd aged 4 by then. baby must go in carrycot/pram, not in a sling as for too long for me and it every day walking to and from dd's school. 20mth old will need full size pushchair and 2.4 will prob walk most of the way but may need to hop on buggy board on way home.

so does it exist? have considered using connectors to connect two chiccos but they would be side by side, but realitvely cheap option for me! currently have marco sky and twin traveller but neither are carrycot compatible. will have to sell them to finance new buggy but if it does all i need then great!

so please help me i need to get this sorted for my own mind

Jane powertwin?

The matrix carseat is made to lie flat so is safe to use for longer periods of time unlike 'normal' carseats.

You can also get a jane buggy board for the back

Pricey though!

EM, haven't a clue, just by luck that I have had only one non-walker at a time IYSWIM.

Hopefully some pram experts will be along in a bit to throw ideas in the ring

or a twin 2

amazonianwoman · 05/03/2008 14:49

Mountain Buggy Urban double, with carrycot on one side, also fine with Kiddyboard (endorsed by Mt Buggy)

A dream to push. Expensive, but easy to pick up secondhand

Pics here but have a look on ebay

Hello I have a Powertwin and it is GREAT to push etc but have been told that even the Jané surfer board that is made to go with it does not work if you have the back seat reclined or have a car seat on there as seat goes too far back to allow toddler to stand upright.

My HV recommended the Lascal 3G buggy board as you can get extenders so I have ordered that, should arrive tomorrow so I can let you know how it goes.

V easy to change seats from car seats to toddler seats and back (I have to do it a lot as have twin babies and a 2-yr old).

thanks everyone - really like the jane power twin and have looked at thwem on ebay. dh thinks they look ok too and likes the idea that i could sell my other 4 buggies

amazonian - don't want side by side but it looks a good double thanks anyway.

egg - it'd be great to here how the 3g board goes as i really will need a buggy board as well.

Men seem to like the powertwin! I have been told twice in last two weeks that it looks like a "great piece of kit" by random male strangers. Women tend to look at the babies .

sazm · 05/03/2008 19:32

does the matrix seat fit on the powertwin though?i thought it was just the rebel that fitted on it??
i know the twin two can take a matrix though,

Egg · 06/03/2008 10:29

Hmm not sure as I was never planning on getting a matrix. Had one with DS1 and it weighed a ton, was ok with one baby but could not have managed with two for twins. Presume it fits just because they are a standard fitting IYSWIM in that if they both go on the twin two then they must both fit into the same slot on the twin two... if that makes sense?!??!

Did love matrix with DS1 for it's lie flat ability. Don't like seeing my little ones squashed up but I am not doing that much walking with them at the mo.

sazm · 06/03/2008 11:16

im sre theres not room for a matrix though on it,you can fit 1 or 2 rebel seats to it,but no mentions of a matrix,

i think the only doubles with a carrcot are the twintwo or a side by side one, other than the prams with toddler seats,

Egg · 06/03/2008 11:21

The icandy pear can take a carry cot and toddler seat too (or two carry cots or two toddler seats). Have not seen one in person, they look great on pics but have been told they are a bit fiddly.

sazm · 06/03/2008 12:59

yep so they do,they are very nice, but a bloody fortune lol

Egg · 06/03/2008 13:05

Yep and cant get one second hand as they are too new (I think). I worked out if I got everything I needed (incl 2 maxi cosi car seats, cos they fit those too) it was about £800 .

I paid just over £400 for my buggy and two car seats I think.

Egg · 08/03/2008 11:29

Righto, the buggy board seems to fit perfectly and it is still possible for me to push the buggy.

However DS1 refuses to go on it...

But it fits!

sazm · 08/03/2008 11:37

lol what buggy did you put it on??
my ds (3yo) refused to go on the buggy board to begin with but once he was on it he LOVED it!

Egg · 08/03/2008 13:12

It's on a Powertwin. He had another go about half an hour ago in the hallway and seemed a bit happier. Just nervous of trying to do a nursery run with twins in pushchair and then he refuses halfway and I am stuck as cant carry him and push buggy at same time. Ah well. Will have to practice over the weekend and get him to love it. Shame it is due to be storms etc on Monday, will make it all the more fun .

sazm · 08/03/2008 15:32

lol my ds wouldnt go on it at all when we were trying to get him on it in the house, but when i picked him up from nursery with it on he was fine nd jumped on straight away,
how old is your ds?
