I've bought a few small items from Klarstein, which have proved good value although they need a better EU to UK adaptor. A few months ago my cooker died. Can't afford a new one, so I got a Klarstein mini oven & grill. It worked for all of a fortnight, then the elements in the bottom oven stopped heating up.
At first, customer service were brilliant. No need to send it back, they said, we'll ship you a new one. Great, yes? Then nothing happened. Then they told me they'd send shipping instructions, then again that they don't offer return & repair on this item.
Eventually, Klarstein instructed me to send it back for a refund. They won't arrange collection and have no UK hub. DPD would be £27 to Germany. The thing's large and fragile, so packaging materials would cost about £25 on top. It's a ridiculous amount of hassle for what would amount to a partial refund.
I'm really cross! Not only that they sold me a dud item, but also for the weeks of unclear communication and failure to collect the return. If you were thinking of buying anything bigger than an electric blanket from Klarstein, maybe think again 😡
