My DH has a close family member getting married. He is in a grump about going as it’s not local so we’ve had to book accommodation and time off work and there’s all the usual wedding expense. Not going is not an option. Given the costs he is not wanting to buy a gift for the bride and groom, however I would feel rude turning up with just a card. There is no gift list and the bride and groom have lived together for many years already. I was thinking of some sort of personalised gift or them, possible something that could reference the bride’s father who passed away a few years ago and incorporate his presence on the day. I’ve had a look on notonthehighstreet.com but nothing there seems suitable, would mumsnet have any ideas to share?
