New ( used car) dilemma

My current car is not doing very well.
It’s coming to 14 years and it’s costing a fortune in constant repairs. Its a Yaris, been used and abused I wonder how it still goes .

anyway I will not use the car much . Maybe 3000 miles per year. I know it’s not much but I start work early when there are no buses, finish late when also there are no buses .
need to take my daughter swimming and again it takes 3 buses ..before having her we managed with one and I’d use bus/ walk/ taxi ..

anyway I don’t know if I should buy the newest I can afford and hoping that , doing little miles, it’ll last me another 10 years. Or , given I’m doing little miles , should I be looking at something 7-8 years old and a little be cheaper ?

like what I don’t know is : is a 10 year old car with saying 40k miles better than a 4 year old with maybe 60k ?? They are so expensive that if I have to spend 10K I rather it being 2-3 years old . Was looking at a Toyota aygo at the moment .

not too into finance because I feel like everything is a life subscription. And if I keep the car I’ll pay 2-3k more in Interests when it’s already overpriced.

any opinions /advice from car savvy people .
