Best pots and pans - any advice?

I am fed up buying cheap pot sets every couple of years and have decided to buy a good set that will last for years. I know that copper pots and pans are highly recommended - has anyone got any brands that they love, hate etc.
i don't want to make an expensive mistake!

I have a few nice Meyer ones (not copper) which have metal handles so I can pop them in the oven if necessary.
You need to decide whether you want ovenproof handles or not; also how heavy you want them (some people swear by Le Creuset but they weigh a ton).

We have Le Crueset - they are ace and really do last and last and last - a set costs about £200 and then you add bits to it - they do some lovely coloured stuff now - I have had mne ages and have the manky old orange colour but DH won't let me change them all! Bleugh!

We had Le Creuset when we got married but we didn't really like them- too heavy. Ovenproof handles would come in handy too. Thanks

Anolon. I've had them for years and they're still in new condition.
Cheap pans burn your food and are a false economy imo.
